I love to go to the gym. I’ve been doing really great these days, although I have had some issues with my knee (torn ACL), my extraordinarily high arches (which have caused stress fractures), and my super sensitive skin (even my worn in sneakers can cause blisters). So, while I love to run, something always tends to go wrong.
The past three days have been amazing. I have been doing an hour of cardio a day which in three days has added up to 14.75 miles. I’m happy with myself, but my feet have been yelling at me. After the first day, the back of both my ankles were rubbed badly. They were red, raw, and it was very uncomfortable. I went back the next day because I’m a fighter. No pain is no gain right? Ug.
I have good running socks and my sneakers are work in, but this is just my luck. I don’t know yet what exactly to do to fix the problem forever. Yesterday I decided to snap off a piece of Aloe Vera plant and give it a try. I reapplied every hour or so all day at work. By the time I was out, the pain was gone and I was ready to give the gym another go. I was really worried that the second I started running I was going to be back in pain. This was not the case.
I was able to go for a whopping 5.7 miles yesterday!
Thank you Aloe, you kept my gym routine going. I’ll be ready for summertime thanks to you.
